Dr. Griffin requests that one week prior to your surgical date you discontinue drinking any alcoholic beverages and the use of medicines such as the following: aspirin, ibuprofen-containing products, naproxen, and certain homeopathic vitamins. These products may cause slightly more intra-operative bleeding or bruising. Smokers must discontinue smoking for 2 weeks prior to the procedure to allow healthy blood and oxygen flow to the scalp.
