REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS

What should I expect from my surgery?

Unrealistic expectations include, achieving the density of original adolescent thickness, an unusually low or inappropriate aged hairline, or the ideology that hair loss will stop once transplantation has begun. A realistic expectation of each surgery is that an improvement will occur. Effective preventative measures are absolutely necessary for the best overall result.

With new surgical techniques, is it possible to restore a full head of hair?

Yes, it is possible to restore a fuller head of hair. However, realistically the patient needs to be aware that he or she may never restore the thickness of their teenage youth. It is possible to achieve sufficient coverage to all balding areas, as long as the patient has adequate donor hair. Also, the patient must realize that it may require multiple surgical sessions to achieve the fullest possible coverage, and use of a preventative program is absolutely mandatory.
